.     Electronic transformers are installed inside the 5" deep P/C (Pan Channel) neon letters.
Behind the neon tubing.
.     Before electronic transformers, for self contained electric neon letters, a 12" deep "H" channel letter had to be fabricated. With the coil type transformers installed in the back 7" portion of each individual metal "H" sign letters.
